Cx Series CX Classic : April 12, 2023    Posted by: Scott I cannot express how disappointed I am in quality, fit and finish of my new CX Classic topper. First off, the topper rear door leaked water inside the truck box. A replacement door was ordered and replaced. The replacement door is shifted to one side and scrapes against the frame when opening and closing. Since the door is shifted to one side the gap between the door and frame is not consistent from side to side resulting in a half inch gap between the door and fiberglass on one side. Mx Series MX Series : Chevy/GMC Silverado/Sierra January 09, 2019    Posted by: Scott I liked the ARE MX toppers on other trucks. That was my decision to buy this one. The outside finish is good and pretty well matches my 4yo truck. The interior is a rough fiberglass mat lightly painted over. There are some placed where the hard sharp fiberglass strands poke out, ouch. Some design problems: The topper lower interior lib behind the front passenger is too big. The C-clamp did not fit correctly. The dealer did the best they could. I fabricated a stop block to fit the clamp with improved bite. The tailgate lip has a gap at the topper rear window that traps leaves, just dumb. Fabricated a gasket to fix. Condensation rolls off the back window upper hinge, right onto the truck bed tailgate when opened. My friends noted that the Sierra and topper combination looks great. I get about 1.5 mpg better highway mileage (verses the LoPro tonneau on the bed) with the top, even when pulling my 20 ft boat. Z Series Z Series : Chevy/GMC Silverado/Sierra May 22, 2018    Posted by: Scott This is my 3rd Z series purchased since 2015. I have been very pleased with the first 2. But this 3rd one I am really disappointed. I had this installed on 5/17/18. This morning i woke up admiring the shell on my truck and good it looks. While i was showing my buddy I found that the paint is cracked in 2 different places. I also noticed the handle to open the glass looks like it has been used before. It has deep scratches in and looks like it has been scrapped across the ground. Upon further inspection it also looks like part of the shell wasnt painted that well. The plastic at the bottom of the glass is really loose. Overall I am very unhappy with this 3rd shell I have purchased. I will say though the first 2 i purchased were perfect.
