Product Reviews : A.R.E. Truck Caps and Tonneau Covers

The LS Tonneau cover provides a great looking hard cover that matches perfectly with my Lunar Rock Toyota Tundra. The hard cover provides water proof protection and security via the eLock for my camping/fishing equipment. I ordered without a light since my truck already has cargo lights. I also installed a BedSlide (all black addition). So I do have a few cons: 1st - the cover finish is not smooth as your paint finish. This is my 2nd ARE purchase (first was Quicksand color on a Tundra) and the finish was also not smooth. A good coat of polish helps but it still in not as smooth as I believe it should be at this price. 2nd - when the cover is closed you can push up on the cover quite easily. Simply put the latching system is not strong and again at this price point the latching should be more secure. 3rd - the cover is heavy and difficult/impossible to open one handed. If ARE provided an option with an auto lift then I would seriously consider it assuming the price was right. Despite these cons, my research and experience with tonneau covers leads me to ARE as the best.
