Seems like the product price has gone up a lot since I price them a couple a years ago. Did not have much choice from a dealership standpoint to compare prices. H&H has cornered the market here. But there service was good and I am happy so far with the product. The gap between the truck cab and shell was a little wider than I expected and I was disappointed that it covered my bed light completely. wish it had a clear plastic piece to allow the light to shine thru.

 Roof rack is substandard
A.R.E. Hd Series
HD Series : Toyota Tacoma

The optional roof rack on the CX HD is unusable. The front cross bar is at least half an inch or more lower than the rear one. Anything longer than about six feet would hit the satellite radio antenna. any cargo longer than that would actually hit the cab roof. This is an obvious design and manufacturing error. The paint match is perfect and the installation was fast and professional. Too bad about the roof rack.

Canopy is only a few days old and during my first washing I found a few flaws and blemishes. Only one is a big deal and it is from porous fiberglass on the hatch corner with a void underneath. It is pocked and pitted in this area and already shows a few surface cracks. It is difficult to really give a fair review until I see first hand whether this will be fixed or not and how it is handled...naturally I did not see this at the dealer and just found it today but it is obvious it is a fiberglass flaw and not from damage. Not sure if the dealer noticed it or not but I tend to think they would have. Otherwise the canopy looks incredible on my truck and I will be camping in it very soon for elk season. Nice fit and really compliments my new truck. Also the bottom edge of the canopy all the way around is bare with no paint and it shows and is noticeable...so kinda poor job there leaving an unfinished edge. Only other complaint was the wiring done by the dealer was a joke. Extremely poor routing and lousy attention on a 50k truck...or even a thousand dollar truck for that matter. Not one zip tie, not an inch of wire loom, ran alongside a factory loom that I was able to tuck it into, and also original wiring was pulled down and didnt get the clips pushed back in to secure them. Its a simple job to get right and sloppy wiring has just always been a pet peeve of mine...always turns into a nightmare later on when wiring chafs, shorts, bad grounds or whatever.
