It's my second MX series and the fit and finish of this cap exceeds the one I bought almost 20 years ago. I really like that the vista window is now fiberglass fully backed by the cap. My old one has spent many months with tape over the opening because I live 170 miles from my ARE dealer. I also like the cap carpeting. It provides insulation and gives my truck bed a true finished look when paired with a Bedrug.

 Almost 19 Years and going strong

I bought an MX cap for my Silverado when it was brand new in 2000. Structurally, it's still going strong and it's been through 320K miles in the Colorado Rockies. Broke a couple of Vista windows but that's how it goes out here. No other problems whatsoever. Paint and clear coat has faded on the top but the sides still look new. I'm picking up my new truck on Saturday and I'm going to order another ARE MX Cap. Hope these two last me 19+ years. The old one will stay in service for back-country trips.
